ethos
What draws me most to theater is the possibility of recognition - allowing people to see feelings they have felt themselves reflected onstage.
I believe a performance is at it's most powerful when it feels immediate, lived-in, vulnerable, and deeply human. I'm drawn to work that dissolves distance between performer and audience, where emotion is not just observed, but recognized: heartbreak, longing, tenderness, contradiction, joy, grief - the parts of ourselves we find hard to articulate out loud.
More than anything, I hope to create work that holds up a mirror to the inner lives we share, and reminds people that even our most private feelings are rarely ours alone.
