Praised as a “standout performer”, Logan Wagner, is quickly establishing a name for himself in concert, recital and operatic repertoire. Logan is comfortable in opera, musical theatre, and stage acting. He has impressed audiences with his physicality and expressive stage skills.
This season, Logan looks forward to joining the Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Program. He will cover Borsa in Rigoletto and participate in the Apprentice Scenes Concert. In the Fall of 2025, Logan will join Pittsburgh Opera’s Resident Artist Program. While in the Resident Artist Program, Logan will sing Parpignol in La Bohème, Timothy Laughlin in Fellow Travelers, debut as The Madwoman in Curlew River, Josè in the world premiere performance of Laura Kaminsky’s Time to Act, and debut as Fenton in Falstaff.
In March of 2025, Wagner sang the role of Lysander in Britten’s masterpiece A Midsummer Night’s Dream with CCM Opera. Earlier that year, Wagner made a double debut with the City Choir of Washington as Don Josè in a concert version of Bizet’s Carmen, conducted by Erin Freeman. Later that month, Mr. Wagner reprised his role of the Brother in Weill's Seven Deadly Sins in the acclaimed Wolf Trap Opera production directed by Elio Bucky and conducted by John Morris Russel at Hilton Head Symphony.
In December of 2024, Mr. Wagner joined Dayton Philharmonic as the Tenor Soloist in Handel's Messiah under the baton of Neal Gittleman.
Summer of 2024, Logan joined Wolf Trap Opera as a Studio Artist. During his time at Wolf Trap, Mr. Wagner debuted the role of the Brother in Kurt Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins with the National Orchestra Institute and conducted by John Morris Russel. He sang the Prune Man in Puccini's La Bohème and covered the Kronprinz in Kevin Puts’ Silent Night.
In February of 2024, Mr. Wagner performed the role of Clarence Elkins in Blind Injustice by Scott Davenport Richards and David Cote. This performance was produced by PEAK Performances and will be streamed on PBS. The performances were conducted by Tony-Winning conductor, Ted Sperling.
In the fall of 2023, Mr. Wagner returned to his musical theater roots and debuted with Dayton Opera as Beadle Bamford in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. Mr. Wagner then sang the roles of Marcellus and Second Gravedigger in Thomas’ Hamlet with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. This production was in collaboration with Opéra-Comique and was specially programmed to commemorate Maestro Louis Langrée’s final season as the principal conductor of the CSO.
In the summer of 2023, Mr. Wagner joined Des Moines Metro Opera as an Apprentice Artist. While at DMMO he covered the role of Jumper in Zach Redler and Jerre Dye's new American opera, The Falling and the Rising.
In April of 2023, Mr. Wagner sang the role of Timothy Laughlin in Gregory Spears' contemporary masterpiece, Fellow Travelers at CCM. This was the first time Spears' work returned to Cincinnati since it's premiere at Cincinnati Opera in 2016. Also at CCM, Mr. Wagner sang the role of L'Aumonier in Poulenc's haunting opera Les Dialogues des Carmélites.
In the summer of 2022, Mr. Wagner was seen as a Principal Artist at Utah Festival Opera where he performed the roles of Monostatos in The Magic Flute, Padre in Man of La Mancha, and covered Martin in The Tender Land. Mr. Wagner received rave reviews during his time at UFOMT, the Cache Valley Daily called him a "standout" and an "audience favorite". While in Utah, Mr. Wagner was named first place in the Utah Festival Opera Vocal Competition.
Deeply committed to new music, Mr. Wagner originated the role of Boy in a workshop of Bulrusher by Nathaniel Stookey at Cincinnati Opera. In a further collaboration with Cincinnati Opera's Opera Fusion: New Works, Mr. Wagner originated the roles of Sergei Eisenstein and Carl Van Vechten in Robeson/Moscow by Scott Davenport Richards. Mr. Wagner also originated roles in the workshop of B.E. Boykin's striking new opera Two Corners Cincinnati Opera's OF:NW.
Mr. Wagner has performed various leading and comprimario roles at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), always bringing a deeply understanding and empathetic tone to the characters. In 2019, Mr. Wagner sang the role of Orfeo in CCM Opera D’arte’s production of L’Orfeo where he was praised for his "impressive stamina" and "engaging performance". In 2021, Mr. Wagner delivered a “hilarious” performance doubling as Don Basilio and Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro at CCM.
Recently Mr. Wagner placed in various competitions throughout the United States, including the Gigli International Voice Competition where he received an Encouragement Award. Mr. Wagner was also named a Finalist in the MIOpera International Vocal Competition, a Semi-Finalist in the Savell Vocal Competition, and a Semi-Finalist in the Pasadena Vocal Competition where he received a Career Grant. Mr. Wagner also won Third Place in the Orpheus Vocal Competition, was named a Finalist in the Lotte Lenya Competition, Second Place in the Rochester Oratorio Society International Vocal Competition, and was named the Grand Prize Corbett Award Winner at the Corbett Competition in the Spring of 2024. In 2025, Logan was named a District Winner in the South Carolina Laffont Competition.
In 2024, Mr. Wagner was also nominated for "Best Performance" by Broadway World for his portrayal of Timothy Laughlin in Fellow Travelers.
Mr. Wagner began his operatic studies at CCM, graduating with his Bachelor of Music in 2020 and Master of Music in 2023. He is currently in the prestigious Artist Diploma Program. Mr. Wagner is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
